Job Description:
HSE engineer with expertise in health and safety management systems for high-rise construction. demonstrate a proven ability to manage projects, possess in-depth knowledge of MEP systems, and support and we required lead a team to ensure the successful delivery of MEP construction project.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support and coordinate all project HSE activities affecting employees, subcontractors, and visitors, ensuring alignment with project and corporate standards.
Review, interpret, and apply contractual, client-specific, and legal HSE obligations to daily operations.
Report directly to the Site HSE Lead or Manager on all HSE-related matters and escalate critical issues promptly.
Maintain direct open communication and coordination with company HSE manager
Conduct daily site inspections to enforce compliance with the approved Project HSE Plan and statutory requirements.
Supervise and guide HSE Officers and the Emergency Response Team, ensuring effective performance and readiness.
Monitor compliance with all legal, client, and company HSE requirements, driving corrective and preventive actions where necessary.
Ensure timely closure of enforcement notices, observations, and corrective action requests.
Issue and document violation notices, forwarding them to the Site HSE Manager for appropriate follow-up.
Advise and support the Site HSE Manager in decision-making on HSE strategies, risks, and improvements.
Plan and deliver HSE programs, campaigns, and awareness activities to promote safe working culture and environmental protection.
Coordinate incident/accident reporting and investigations, liaising with contractors, subcontractors, and relevant authorities as required.
Evaluate subcontractors’ HSE performance, reporting gaps and recommending improvements.
Maintain accurate HSE records, including incident logs, alerts, statistical reports, audits, and best practice bulletins.
Update and manage site HSE communication tools (e.g., noticeboards, signage, alerts) to ensure information remains relevant and visible.
Coordinate and support delivery of HSE training to project personnel in collaboration with training providers.
Exercise stop-work authority to halt unsafe acts or conditions and ensure corrective measures are implemented before resumption.
Provide technical advice and hands-on assistance to project teams, ensuring HSE standards and project-specific HSE Plans are effectively implemented.
Perform other related tasks as assigned to support safe, efficient, and compliant project operations.
Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, encouraging workforce participation in HSE initiatives.
Contribute to audits, reviews, and management reporting, providing evidence of compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and client requirements.
Skills
· Technically sound on applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
· Ability to conduct site audits, job safety analysis and risk calculations.
· Ability to meet work schedules and deadlines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent
Required level 6 HSE certificate or equivalent
Mandatory Nebosh IGC certificate
Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP field with high-rise experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Proven project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
